Janis Edna Servoss, age 71, passed away on April 26, 2021, in the arms of her loving husband. She was born in Salt Lake City on March 16, 1950 to Frank and Margaret Fletcher. She married Richard Elvin Servoss in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, January 28, 1977. Every 28th day of each month they would celebrate their anniversary. They cherished the 44 years they had together.

Janis served a mission to the Alaska British Columbia Mission. When she met Richard she was working at the LDS Church Offices. Later her and Richard worked together at Sorenson Research and then she was able to spend most of their marriage as a homemaker.

Janis grew up living in the Sugarhouse area and graduated from Highland High School. The first part of their marriage they remained living in the Sugarhouse area since Janis loved her childhood stomping grounds so much. They later bought a home in the Glendale area and have enjoyed living there for the past several years.
Janis loved to sing. She sang in ward choirs and at her mother-in-law’s funeral.

She had a deep love for the Gospel.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Elvin Servoss, brother Dean (Nadine) Fletcher, brother & sister In laws: Craig Servoss, Larry Servoss, Kathy (Mike) Houskeeper, Mike Servoss, Nancy Perkins (David), Marilyn Beagley, and many nieces and nephews.

Comfort is found in knowing many loved ones greeted her on the other side with loving, open arms. Knowing that helps to soften the sadness for her loved ones left behind. Janis is the sweetest gift of her husband’s life. May she rest in peace until they are reunited once again.

We wish to thank all the medical staff, neighbors and others who have helped take care of Janis over the last couple of years.
