Bruce Nyland Hollingshead, 68 passed away on October 6, 2020 in West Valley City, UT. Bruce was born on August 14, 1952 to Bruce W. Hollingshead and Virginia Herrin Hollingshead in Salt Lake City, UT. He was the 4th child and only boy of 5 children. Bruce Grew up in Bountiful, UT where he graduated from Viewmont High in 1970.
Bruce gained a love for cooking while working as a chef at the old Hotel Utah. He loved cooking for his family anytime he could. He always knew everyone's favorite dessert and would always try to make it for them on their birthday, special occasions and holidays, even when it meant having to make several different items at the same time. He always made sure everyone felt special and loved on their special day. Bruce later retired as computer tech from USWest.
Bruce was the father of twin daughters Jennifer and Jessica. They were the most important people in his life and he always loved any chances he got to spend time with them and his 4 grandchildren that he was so proud of and absolutely adored and they adored him. Bruce loved being a grandpa. He loved his frequent trips to the zoo, and annual Utah State Fair trips with his family and he always jumped at any opportunity he got to babysit his grandchildren. They are all memories we will hold close to our hearts for the rest of our lives.
Bruce was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His family is grateful to know that Bruce has been reunited with loved ones that have passed before him and is grateful for the knowledge that we will have a joyous reunion with him again someday.
Bruce is survived by his children Jennifer (Jacob) Sorensen, Jessica (Mark) Metekingi and 4 grandchildren. He is also survived by his 4 sisters Gale (Mike) Goodsell, Jackie (John) Bolinder, Colleen (Dean) Anderson and Joan Thomas. He is proceeded in death by his parents Bruce and Virginia Hollingshead.
A Private Family Service will be held October 17, 2020 where Bruce's remains will be laid to rest at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park near his parents.
